Provider capabilities that differ from the ZSvirt UI.

Compared to ZSvirt UI

From image creation

  • Disk QoS: IOPS and bandwidth limits are not yet supported
  • Disk provisioning strategy: Thin/thick provisioning is not yet supported
  • Cache mode: Disk cache mode configuration is not yet supported
  • AIO mode: Asynchronous I/O mode configuration is not yet supported

From template creation

  • Batch creation: Not supported (Terraform is declarative, not procedural)
  • Disk create types: Only new type is supported in disk_aos (the UI supports new, image, created, and rdm)
  • Advanced network configuration: MAC address, SR-IOV, bandwidth limits, and security groups are not yet supported

Instance Management

Create and manage ZSvirt virtual machines from images or templates with zsphere_instance.

Building and Testing

Build the ZSvirt Terraform provider locally and run integration tests.
