Host addition fails with a "kvm\_intel not loaded" error
Symptom
Host addition fails with the error: "The host has not loaded the kvm_intel (virtualization) module and cannot perform this operation."
Cause
The VMX and CPU VT options are not enabled.
Solution

Configure Enable Monitor MWAIT
In the BIOS, navigate to the Socket Configuration page and select Advanced Power to open the Advanced Power management configuration.
In the Advanced Power management configuration, select CPU C State Control and set Enable Monitor MWAIT to Disabled.

Configure Intel VT for Directed I/O
Return to the Socket Configuration page and select IIO Configuration.
Set Intel VT for Directed I/O to Enabled.

Configure VMX
Return to the Socket Configuration page and select Processor Configuration.
Set VMX to Enabled.

Save and exit
The VMX and CPU VT options are now configured. Press F10 to save and exit the BIOS settings.
