A live migration takes too long. How do I resolve this?

Cause

The Virtual Machine may be writing memory data at a rate that exceeds the memory migration rate during migration, preventing the live migration from completing within a reasonable time.

Solution

• If the Virtual Machine workload is high, live migration takes longer. Wait for the migration task to complete.

• On the target Host details page, select Auto-Convergence Mode and retry the live migration.

• Based on your network conditions, plan a dedicated 10 GbE migration network to accelerate live migration.
